Zammad helpdesk showing a shared ticket inbox

Business benefits

Better customer service, without the compliance risk.

Cloud helpdesks put customer data outside your control. A self-hosted Zammad helpdesk gives your teams modern support tools while keeping regulators, auditors and your CISO comfortable.

Pass regulatory and audit reviews

Customer conversations are stored on servers you control, in your country. We provide architecture documentation, security controls and CBB-aligned evidence for your risk, audit and compliance teams.

Handle every complaint on the record

Every email, chat and call becomes a ticket with a full, timestamped history, from first contact to resolution. When a regulator or customer asks what happened, the answer is one search away.

Resolve customer issues faster

Agents work every channel from one shared inbox, with service-level targets and automatic escalation, so fewer customers are left waiting and fewer cases slip through.

Predictable cost, no per-agent fees

Zammad is open source, so there are no licence fees as your team grows. You pay one annual fee for deployment, management and support.

Less operational risk

We handle upgrades, security patches, backups and disaster recovery testing, with 24x7 response for critical incidents. Your IT team doesn't have to become helpdesk experts.

No vendor lock-in

The code is open and your data sits in your own database. If you ever leave OpenSure, the system and every conversation stay with you.

FAQ

Questions about Zammad and OpenSure

What is Zammad?

Zammad is a mature, open-source helpdesk and customer support system developed by Zammad GmbH in Germany. It brings email, chat, phone, messaging and web forms into one ticketing system, with SLAs, automation, a knowledge base and reporting.

Zammad is free. Why pay OpenSure?

The software is free to download, but running it safely is not. A bank needs it installed securely, integrated with sign-on and email, patched, backed up, upgraded and documented for auditors, with someone to call at 3am. OpenSure does all of that under a support agreement.

Where is our customer data stored?

In your own data centre, or on a dedicated server in your region that only you use. There are no shared tenants and no data stored abroad. OpenSure staff access the system only as your access controls allow.

Does WhatsApp keep data inside our environment?

WhatsApp messages are delivered through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, so they pass through Meta before reaching your Zammad server, where the conversation is then stored. We help your risk team assess this channel before it is switched on, and every other channel can run entirely inside your environment.

Can we move from Zendesk, Freshdesk or another helpdesk?

Yes. Zammad includes importers for Zendesk, Freshdesk, Kayako and OTRS, and we plan and run the migration so your ticket history comes with you.

What happens if we stop working with OpenSure?

You keep everything. Zammad is open source and runs on your infrastructure, and all data is in your own database. We hand over documentation and credentials so you or another provider can continue running it.

How long does deployment take?

A pilot for one team can typically be live within weeks, depending on your infrastructure and approval processes. We agree the timeline with you during the assessment.

Keep your customer conversations where they belong.
